If you watched West Virginia football this past season, you might have taken some notice to No. 1 on the Mountaineers. Tavon Austin, a projected first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, put on quite a show during his tenure at WVU.
The Paul Hornung winner and 1st team All-American sure had some incredible moments during his senior season at West Virginia. In the game against then-No. 12 Oklahoma, the slot receiver had nearly 600 yards of total offense. On the night, Austin had 572 all-purpose yards.
Austin recorded over 640 yards as a running back this season as well. The versatile Baltimore, Md., native recorded over 1,200 yards receiving on top of his rushing/KR/PR yardage.
Experts have made comparisons that Austin could be the next Percy Harvin, Wes Welker or Darren Sproles, and with this playmaking ability, it would be hard not to see why.
Here’s a great compilation just released of Austin’s senior season by DougityDog Media.
