Conference realignment is taking place all over the college football landscape, and next week we should all plan to see another shift.
A source has informed Sparty & Friends that both Texas Christian University and the University of Hawaii will be leaving their respective conferences. TCU will be leaving the MWC to join the Big East as has long been rumored. MWC will be replacing the Horned Frogs with Hawaii, who will be leaving the WAC.
The MWC, one of the stronger non-AQ conferences, should be able to offset the loss of TCU with the additions of Hawaii and Boise State from a competitive standpoint. TCU joining the Big East of course will bring into question just how good or bad the Big East is. If TCU wins the conference outright next season, will it discredit the conference? If they lose, will it show that TCU never really belonged? My guess is that it will really prove nothing other than Boise State is still running scared.
