A teammate of one of the Tennessee Vols' top transfer targets entered the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday.
Tulane wide receiver Chris Brazzell took a visit to Tennessee this week after recently entering the transfer portal. The 6-foot-5 wide receiver is a player the Vols would love to have after he caught 44 passes for 711 yards and five touchdowns in 2023.
Tennessee also needs a tight end. And while there are several transfer targets on their radar, they haven't landed a commitment from a tight end yet.
On Tuesday, Tulane tight end Alex Bauman, Brazzell's teammate, entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Tulane TE Alex Bauman has entered the transfer portal. He posted 33 catches for 273 yards and 5 TDs this season in his second year with the Green Wave. https://t.co/haqU03Imnv

Bauman is a former three-star recruit from New Jersey who was also recruited as an edge rusher. His brother is a tight end at Notre Dame (he missed the 2023 season with a torn ACL).

Bauman caught the game-winning touchdown in the Cotton Bowl against USC last season.
It's unclear if Tennessee will have any interest in Bauman, but perhaps they could land Brazzell and Bauman as a package deal. The Vols certainly have a big need at both positions.
