Texas Quarterback Arch Manning Plans For 2024 Revealed
Andrew Dieb-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Longhorns are busy preparing for their matchup with the Washington Huskies in the College Football Playoff. However, every team has to worry about the transfer portal this time of year. Quarterback Arch Manning was a name to watch, especially with reports surfacing that Quinn Evers might be returning to the program. A recent report shined some light on where Manning will play football next year.

Texas QB Arch Manning: 2024 Plans

In a little bit of a surprise, Manning is expected to stay with the Longhorns. Chris Hummer of 247 Sports reported that “based on everything we’ve heard, Arch is perfectly happy at Texas. I think the expectation is he will be back in 2024.” This is great news for the program. Even if Ewers comes back it will likely only be for a year. This gives Manning another year to develop and then he can step in and take the reigns of the offense.

Good News For The Longhorns

This speaks to the culture that Texas has built within the program. Manning could easily enter the transfer portal, get a huge NIL deal, and start week 1 of the 2024 season. However, he has chosen to stay with the people who recruited him. This does likely signal that Maalik Murphy will enter the portal as a three-quarterback room leaves someone on the outside looking in. Still, the Longhorns probably want the name recognition that comes with a Manning so they have to be happy about this report.

Are the Longhorns finally back? This has been a running joke for a while but now that they have made it to the College Football Playoff, it might finally be true.
