By now, you’ve pretty heard that the Ole Miss Rebels had a pretty darn good Signing Day. Hugh Freeze and his staff inked what most believe to be one of the top five classes in the country, and had an especially strong haul on Signing Day itself, getting commitments from three five-star players, including the nation’s No. 1 recruit, Robert Nkemdiche. Safe to say, it was a day to remember for Ole Miss fans. It was also one of nasty accusations by fans of other schools. After all, schools like Ole Miss don’t just sign classes like the one they did on Wednesday. Not unless something fishy is happening anyway.   Of course while cheating is a possibility here (although a highly unlikely one), what’s much more probable is that the Rebels’ staff simply outworked the competition. And the crazy thing is that it doesn’t appear they’ll be slowing down any time soon either. Meet Clifton Garrett, who is considered by most to be one of the top high school juniors in the country. The linebacker from Illinois already has scholarship offers from just about everyone in the Big Ten, including Ohio State, Nebraska and Michigan State. Not surprisingly, he also has an offer from Ole Miss too. However, in addition to just the offer, Ole Miss did something else to catch the eye of Garrett this weekend. They sent him... ... are you ready for this... ... 54... handwritten letters on Saturday. That’s right... 54!!! Why 54? Who knows. And what they could’ve possibly said is anyone’s guess. But the fact remains that in the recruiting game, Ole Miss is playing for keeps. Garrett was even nice enough to tweet a picture of it all, with the following message: #OleMiss aint playin no games!! 54 hand written letters today #RebelNation!! instagr.am/p/Vhdxt1NUzd/ — Clifton Garrett CG3 (@CG340) February 9, 2013 #OleMiss aint playin no games!! 54 hand written letters today #RebelNation!!   No, they’re not. And to anyone who thought Hugh Freeze and his staff were going to slow down after their big 2013 Signing Day haul, think again. The Rebels are already thinking ahead to 2014.
