Transfer Portal Tight End Jalin Conyers Set to Visit Utah
USA TODAY Sports

Former Arizona State tight end, Jalin Conyers, announced through a post on X, that he is down to three schools as a potential transfer destination for the 2024 season.

Since entering the transfer portal last week, Conyers has garnered a wide range of attention for his RAC ability.

According to Anthony Totri on X, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound tight end currently has official visits scheduled with Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas Tech, and Utah.

While it remains to be seen if Utah is one of Conyers’ three finalists, the fact that he has a scheduled visit with the school makes it seem more than likely.

Conyers, a graduate transfer, would have the potential to make a big impact for the Utes if he chose Salt Lake as his home for 2024.

As a sophomore at ASU, Conyers led the FBS by forcing 21 tackles as a tight end. The Utes have historically implemented the tight end position heavily in their offense, using playmakers like Dalton Kincaid, Brant Kuithe, and more recently Landen King, to move the ball downfield.

King emerged as the Utes’ best option at tight end after injuries kept Kuithe and Thomas Yassmin out for most of the season. However, with Yassmin using up the last of his eligibility and the status of Kuithe unknown for the 2024 season, Conyers could potentially see meaningful minutes with the team.

Conyers, the No. 4 tight end prospect in the class of 2020, originally committed to the Oklahoma Sooners out of high school. After a lone season with the Sooners, Conyers transferred to ASU and played three seasons with the Sun Devils.

The tight end’s best season came in 2022 where he posted a stat line of 38 catches for 422 yards and five touchdowns. He played 11 games in 2023, missing one due to an undisclosed injury.
