Tulsa football pauses workouts due to coronavirus outbreak

On the same day that the Twitter account for Tulsa football shared pictures from a training session, ESPN's Dave Wilson reported that the program has temporarily paused workouts due to a coronavirus outbreak.

According to Wilson, at least eight Tulsa players have tested positive for the virus. At least 16 players, in total, will enter quarantine and self-isolate to attempt to stop the spread.

All players who tested positive were asymptomatic, and none required hospitalization.

Tulsa head coach Philip Montgomery spoke about the situation on Monday:

"It's unfortunate that we have to pause practice, but the well-being, health and security of our athletes is our number one priority. We will continue to do everything we can during this stretch to keep our players safe, healthy and at the top of their game mentally."
