UCLA Football: Departing Senior Weighs In On Feelings After Final Game As A Bruin
USA TODAY Sports

As the UCLA Bruins walked off the field this past weekend after taking down the Boise State Broncos, many of the seniors were left with a fleeting feeling. They were happy to get the win, but it was also hitting them that this was their last game.

Senior linebacker Darius Muasau reflected on his final game as a member of the Bruins, saying it was a bittersweet moment.

“Very bittersweet feeling. Sad that it’s my last collegiate game over these past five years. Love this game with all I got and I wouldn’t want to end it with any other team than the UCLA Bruins. Playing with the brothers I’ve had all year, I made a lot of great friendships that I’ll cherish forever. Great memories. You mentioned the defense we had this year. I was just so blessed to be on the field with these guys. We play for each other out there and I feel like it shows every game. We trust one another and we love one another so much. I feel like that’s how we play."

Like many of the seniors on the roster, this was a special game for Muasau. He knows that he can now always remember getting a win in his final college game.

This was important to the many seniors on the Bruins team, and they wanted to end the year with a bang. While it was a frustrating season in a lot of ways, getting this win is huge for them going forward.

It was the first bowl win for the Bruins since the 2015 Alamo Bowl, marking another accomplishment for this program. They can now head into the offseason on a high note, with the hope of building on this performance into next season.
