UCLA Football Former Bruins Star Defensive Player Lands on PFF's 2024 All-Transfer Team
USA TODAY Sports

A former UCLA Bruin has landed on the PFF 2024 All-Transfer team . Safety Kamari Ramsey, who played for the Bruins in 2022-2023, was named to the PFF transfer team after departing for USC in the offseason.

The former four-star recruit put up 40 tackles, one interception and four pass breakups during the 2023 campaign. Ramsey was one of the top pass defenders, leading all Pac-12 safeties with a 41.6 allowed passer rating per PFF

He gave up zero touchdowns during the season and was integral to the Bruins' defense. This was a huge jump in production after Ramsey put up five total tackles during limited action in his freshman season.

Ramsey was also a strong run defender, which was key in a UCLA defense that finished second in the FBS in rushing yards allowed per game and a UCLA defense that finished 10th in total yards per game.

Unfortunately for the Bruins, Ramsey departed in the offseason to stay with defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn, who left for USC. Ramsey ultimately chose to stay with Lynn to continue building off his strong second season and avoid major coaching changes.

Ramsey wasn't the only Bruin to leave for the rival Trojans, as defensive back John Humphrey also transferred to USC to stick with Lynn.

UCLA's defense has incurred some huge losses with Ramsey, Humphrey, Laiatu Latu, Gabriel Murphy and Grayson Murphy all leaving via the transfer portal or through the NFL Draft.

With Chip Kelly also leaving, it will be a major transition season for the Bruins in 2024, who are also leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten.
