PLAYERS: Urban Meyer

The only person that has received more scrutiny than the actual person was allegedly charged in the murder of Odin Lloyd is Aaron Hernandez’s former college coach at Florida, Urban Meyer. The current Ohio State Buckeyes head coach has been the target of criticism for being involved in covering up, or at least not holding Hernandez accountable for his indiscretions while in Gainesville, which may nor may not include an alleged bar fight before Hernandez ever took the field, and multiple failed drug tests. Meyer’s former program has been questioned by many over the past few weeks, and it wasn’t until now that Meyer attempted to set the record straight from his side of the street in a series of text messages with Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch. “Prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim,” Meyer said. “Relating or blaming these serious charges to the University of Florida, myself or our staff is wrong and irresponsible.” “I just received an email from a friend where there is an accusation of multiple failed drug tests by Hernandez covered up by University of Florida or the coaching staff. This is absolutely not true,” Meyer said. “Hernandez [...]

  • The only one at fault here is Hernandez....PERIOD!!!!! He is obviously nothing but a stinking thug. He's gonna spend the rest of his life behind bars where belongs.

What has followed since the horrific and sad murder of Odin Lloyd and the subsequent arrest of ex-Florida Gator star Aaron Hernandez has been nothing short of a complete circus. Every decision or non-decision that Meyer made while coaching the Gators has seemingly...

Florida Gators QB Jeff Driskel signs with Boston Red Sox

If this whole football thing doesn’t work out, Florida Gators starting quarterback Jeff Driskel now has a pretty nice fallback plan. The junior signal-caller inked a minor league deal with the Boston Red Sox last week after being drafted in the 29th round by the club in last month’s MLB Amateur Draft. Despite what it may seem like, don’t worry Gator fans as Driskel wasted no...

The Chase 2013: Offensive Line

There is rarely a time as an Ohio State football fan that we have expectations any less than championship caliber.  Whether Big Ten or National, every year the goal is set for our guys to end up with some pretty fancy rings and very few tallies in the loss column.  It seems every 10 years or so, 1995 and 96, 2005 and 06 for example, that those expectations float just a little...

Offensive linemen that are buried on the depth chart often see most of their playing time in either “garbage time,” or on special teams, guarding the kickers and punters. This is certainly the case for Eric Kramer, the third year player out of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati. Kramer enrolled at Ohio State in 2010, but did not join the football team that year, instead waiting...
