Utah Ranks As No. 6 Team In Bleacher Report's Early Top-25 Rankings For 2024 Season
USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Utes were looking to win their third-straight Pac-12 title this season, but instead ended up in the middle of the pack.

Now granted, the Utes were expecting both star quarterback Cam Rising and star tight end Brant Kuithe to return from injury and headline their team, but neither played a single snap. It also didn't help that the team had some of the worst injury luck in all of college football, losing offensive linemen, receivers, running backs, and pass rushers to injury.

However, they are set to return a bulk of their key players next season, headlined by Rising, which has many confident that they will be poised to make a run in the Big 12.

Bleacher Report's David Kenyon recently released his early rankings for the 2024 season, and had the Utah Utes slated as the No. 6 team in the country. The only programs ahead of them were Texas, Oregon, Michigan, Georgia, and Alabama.

Kenyon cited Utah's returners and a favorable schedule as to why they should be the front-runner in the new-look Big 12.

"Arizona is an intriguing riser but travels to Utah, which has a road schedule of Arizona State, Colorado, Houston, Oklahoma State and UCF. Calling that easy would be foolish, but it's certainly not as difficult as 2023's list of Arizona, Oregon State, USC and Washington," wrote Kenyon.

With the playoff expanding, winning the Big 12 would allow for Utah to make their first-ever playoff appearance. There are still some positional needs that are expected to be addressed, but a healthy Utah team in 2024 can cause major problems.
