Kyle Van Noy returns a fumble for a TD against San Diego State.   2012 was a disappointing year for BYU football. They went 8-5 against a tough schedule, memorably dropping winnable games on the road to Utah,  Boise State, Notre Dame, and San Jose State by a combined 13 points. The silver lining was the emergence of their defense, which was 3rd in the nation in points allowed. Defensive End Ziggy Ansah started the season on the bench, and finished as the fifth pick taken in the 2013 NFL draft.
