Bob Costas and NBC nabbed the first interview with alleged child molester, and former Penn St. assistant football coach, Jerry Sandusky. Here is the full interview followed by my thoughts.

  • First, who from Sandusky’s defense team thought this was a good idea? He comes off looking much worse, if that were even possible.
  • He says all of the allegations are false. He says Penn St. assistant coach, Mike McQueary did not see him raping a young boy in the shower. Why would he lie? Sandusky says, “You’d have to ask him that.”
  • Instead of raping this 10-year old, Sandusky says he and the boy were horsing around, snapping towels and sliding across the floor. Seriously? Yeah, you know, a 50-60 year old man, and an a 10 year old boy naked in the showers, you know horsing around…so what’s wrong with that?
  • When asked about witnesses saying he performed oral sex on young boys, Sandusky said that’s also a lie, and you’d have to ask the witnesses why they would lie about him.
  • Excellent quote from Costas, “It seems that if all of these accusations are false, you are the unluckiest and most persecuted man that any of us has ever heard about.” Sandusky, of course, had little to no comment on that.
  • The guy sitting next to Costas is Sandusky’s lawyer, who by the way, impregnated a 16-year old girl when he was 49.  That’s who you get to represent you? His lawyer believes Sandusky is innocent. Of course he does.
  • He says Joe Paterno never spoke to him about anything relating to these incidents. I hope that’s a lie. If not, Joe Pa looks even worse.
  • Sandusky says, “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.” Obviously. Now what about the anal rape and the ********? You probably should’ve avoided that too, right?
  • Costas asks Sandusky if he’s “sexually attraced to young boys.” Sandusky repeats the questions as he thinks up a lie, then says something about enjoying young people. Rot in hell dude. Rot in hell.
  • Again, who from Sandusky’s defense team thought this interview was a good idea for him?
