Paralyzed former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand actually sat up on his own. Check out the video and you’ll see this amazing accomplishment.
LeGrand has been able to sit upright on his own for as long as 23 seconds during physical therapy.
A physical therapist has to lift LeGrand into the sitting position, but he’s able to hold that upright position on a regular basis.
NBC4 in New York asked LeGrand if he can feel anything yet.
“I feel like a sensation is going down, that a signal is trying to get down," LeGrand said.
The physical therapist said that LeGrand’s ability to sit up on his own is a key step in exciting the nerves that have been paralyzed for more than a year.
