On Friday night, Old Dominion held a 10-7 advantage over Virginia Tech through one half of football.
After a seemingly ordinary half of football, things were about to get a little crazy after halftime.
After the halftime break, players returned for the second half, but nothing happened. There was no second-half kick-off, leading many to wonder why. Soon enough, news broke that several Virginia Tech coaches were stuck in an elevator heading back upstairs to the coach's box.
Quite the home-field advantage at S.B. Ballard Stadium, right?

After a delay of more than 15 minutes, normalcy returned, and the second half commenced.
Not the most ideal way to start the Brent Pry era at Virginia Tech, but it's a long season.
The Hokies and Monarchs are meeting for just the fourth time in their history. Virginia Tech owns a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series, having won their most recent matchup, 31-17, in 2019.
