Can a player from a school on NCAA postseason probation win the Heisman? Sophomore quarterback Braxton Miller of Ohio State seems like the best bet to join Andre Ware (1989) as the only player to pull that off. Talking to various Heisman voters, no one seems inclined to punish Miller for the past sins of the program. And not going to [...]
BEST OF MAXIM
Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller is off to quite the start this season.
He’s had an amazing touchdown run in both games this season.
In my opinion as long as the Buckeyes keep winning, he’ll be a fixture in the Heisman Trophy race.
He’s already my preseason favorite for the award entering next season.
His coach knows something about taking quality athletes that...
With the numbers Braxton Miller has been posting this season, it was no surprise to see him excel on Saturday against Cal. Miller’s performance has earned him B1G Player of the Week, but more importantly it’s earned him respect from Buckeye fans that were still doubtful of his ability.
Saturday’s game started with a blast from the past, the first Ohio State offensive play...

How does Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller compare to Buckeye head football coach Urban Meyer's most famous acolyte, Tim Tebow? Pretty well, according to Meyer.
"Very similar guys," Meyer said. "They're both competitive human beings.
They're both very talented people. Braxton has more talent. Tim is
Nothing you’re about to read here is news. It’s all stuff that most of us already knew. But the big deal here is everything you’re about to read here came from the mouth of Urban Meyer.
Yes, the same Urban Meyer that swept Tim Tebow off his feet on the recruiting trail. And the same Urban Meyer that got so close with Tebow that the two once got all nuzzly on the sideline.
Braxton Miller should run his way closer to the Heisman Trophy on Saturday.

As Braxton Miller goes, so does Ohio State through the first three games of the 2012 season. Thankfully for the 3-0 Buckeyes, Miller is off to a red-hot start. It may be too soon to think Heisman Trophy for the sophomore quarterback, but Miller has certainly been impressive.
One comment can make or break relationships and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is well aware of what.
What he stated today during an interview today will endear him to Buckeyes and cement his legend as a traitor to hardcore Gators.

The Ohio State football team hasn't hid from relying on quarterback Braxton Miller's legs. Though that has been a highly successful approach through the first three weeks of the season, more diversity could become a must as opposing defenses continue to make stopping his rushing output a priority.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have opened up as thirty-seven point favorites at the Caesers Sportsbook in Las Vegas for Saturday’s game against the Alabama-Birmingham Blazers. After back-to-back weeks of allowing lesser opponents to remain in the game for four quarters, even finding themselves trailing to Cal by one in the fourth last...
Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller has some pretty big shoes to fill — and they're not even from his own school.
Miller is only a sophomore, but he is already being compared to head coach Urban Meyer's best collegiate player from Florida — Tim Tebow.
Meyer compared Miller, his current quarterback, favorably to Tebow — the three-time Heisman finalist — from...
There are wins and then there are small victories.
Garrick McGee has to settle for the latter.
In his first season as the coach at UAB, he's trying to upgrade a program that has struggled in the transition in the public's perspective from sneaky-good basketball power to big-time football contender. He knows he doesn't have as much talent as No. 16 Ohio State does coming...
His team hasn't lost and it has a quarterback who has stamped himself as one of the best in the nation.
Yet as No. 16 Ohio State readies for its final non-conference game on Saturday against UAB, coach Urban Meyer knows he and his staff still have a lot of items to clean up.
The very first thing, on the top of that list, is eliminating big plays on defense.

“Why you should buy: After a forgettable 2011 season, in which the Buckeyes finished 6-7 after coach Jim Tressel resigned in the spring, Meyer is already transforming the...
Michigan has the unique position of having three big rivals. Most teams only have one rival to get up for, but year-in and year-out, Michigan has three. While we, as fans, hate each of these teams, we carry some respect for them. Michigan State and Ohio State carry conference affiliation ties while Notre Dame, well, we all just put up with them. All season long, it’s fun to keep...
