Notes

It’s a good thing forced fumble statistics don’t take intent into account. Since they don’t, Devon Still was able to record the first forced fumble of his career on Sunday Night in quite an unorthodox way. While Ben Roethlisberger was stepping up in the pocket, Still went to take him down for a sack. While stepping up, Ben lifted his arm trying to avoid getting sacked bringing the ball with him. On the way up with the arm, the ball hit Still’s helmet and was dropped for a fumble that was recovered by the Bengals. The play also marked Still’s first career sack. You can see the play here.

Sean Lee was forced to leave the Cowboys’ game on Sunday in the 3rd quarter because of a sprained big toe. After the game, Lee said:

“I couldn’t push off the way I needed to, couldn’t do my job the way I needed to.”

The injury doesn’t seem serious/threatening to any playing time. Even if it does, Dan Connor will be the man to replace him, so it’s not an entirely lost situation.

It may be hard to believe, but it took until week 7 for Navorro Bowman to pick up his first sack of the season. His 7 tackles on Thursday night also brought him to 4th on the NFL tackles list with 67. He’s currently trailing Jered Mayo, who has 72.
