It seems Kalen DeBoer's University of Washington offense is most efficient when it has a left-handed quarterback calling the signals.

When he took over the program, the coach had a pair of southpaws in Michael Penix Jr. and Sam Huard on the roster.

Penix, of course, led the nation last season in passing with 357 yards per game for an 11-2 Huskies team and is a serious Heisman Trophy candidate in his final season.

Huard, the one-time 5-star recruit, got impatient with his UW progress and transferred to Cal Poly, where he stands to become the starter.

If DeBoer were to add another lefty it might be Jaron Sagapolutele, a 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, not far from Honolulu.

On Tuesday, the Huskies extended a scholarship offer to this Class of 2025 prospect and brother of John Sagapolutele, a recent University of Hawaii quarterback signee — who's a right-hander.

There's just something about a lefty quarterback tossing a soft, deep ball that is mesmerizing, and this younger Sagapolutele has it.

Sagapolutele comes from a serious quarterback family, with brother John telling a reporter that his mother wouldn't allow the brothers to have girlfriends because it might distract from them reaching their goals.

After playing as a freshman at Saint Louis High School, Jaron Sagapolutele transferred to Campbell High School and completed 231 of 382 passes for 3,522 yards and 31 touchdowns with 13 interceptions for a Sabers team that would finish 7-4.

Sagapolutele's football recruitment is just beginning. He holds other offers from Hawaii, San Diego State and San Jose State.
