Why the Sabres did not make the playoffs

The Sabres did not make the playoffs. Why?
That's easy there was no defense. Ryan Miller was all by himself, he had no back up. The passing on the team was off. There was no leadership on the team. There really was no team morale in the last stretch. They didn't play in panic mode the whole game, just at the last minute.
If you can think of any more that will be appreciated. Here are just a few.

Because Tom Golisano handcuffed Darcy Regier with his frugality.
