Can the #2 ranked Auburn Tigers, who have won their last two regular season games on late game miracles, pull out a third and keep the SEC streak of eight National Championships intact against the #1 and 13 point favorite Florida State Seminoles. Well if you like offense this game is for you The Tigers have had the stars shining on them starting in week 13 when they beat Georgia on a last minute 73 yard TD pass from Nick Marshall to Ricardo Louis after it was deflected on a 4th and 18 with 25 seconds left and then in week 14, Chris Davis returned a missed field goal 109 yards to shock then #1 Alabama and the football world 34-28 to get to the SEC title game.  They then dispatched Missouri in an offense slugfest 59-42, with Auburn running back Tre Mason rushing 46 times for a team record 304 yards and 4 TDs. Their opponent, Florida State has not been challenged all season as they lead the nation in both points for (53.0) and against (10.7).  They are led by Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston who has been electrifying all season going 237 for 349 (67.9% completion rate) for 3,820 yards and 38 TD’s and an additional 4 TD’s in leading the #5 offense (#14 – pass and #23 in rush).  Defensively they are even better, ranked #3 (#13 – run and #1 – pass), but they may run into something that will be the difference in who wins this game. The Seminoles only gave up more than 17 points once all season, but the one team, Boston College scored 34 and also rushed for 200 yards in the game.  The BC Eagles were the #20 rushing offense in the country averaging 212.5 yards a game.  Why is this important?  Auburn is the #1 rushing offense in the country averaging 335.7 yards a game and they plan on running Tre Mason and Nick Marshall all game long to wear down the Seminoles.  If Seminole fans wonder if the Tigers did anything against as good defense like theirs they should remember the Tigers ran for 296 yards against Alabama (#8 avg. – 106.2 yards). The Seminoles are 13 points favorites in this game, which is one of the bigger spreads in this bowl season, but as other have shown (UCF and Oklahoma  won as double digit underdogs) the Tigers may just show why they won’t just beat the spread but win the game and the National Championship. Cinderella already has two glass slippers for the two miracle wins, but they will leave Pasadena with a Crystal Trophy.  Auburn wins 52-48 in a late TD and a late pick to secure the Championship.
