New Orleans (La.) John Curtis standout wide receiver Michael Turner Jr. has scheduled an official visit to the University of Florida for June 23-25, he shared with All Gators on Monday.

It’s the only documented official visit Florida will host on the fourth weekend of June, and the first and only official visit on the slate for the 2024 prospect. Turner holds 22 total offers with Georgia, Ole Miss, Nebraska and Tennessee aligning as notable programs in the mix for his services.

Turner, offered by the Gators in mid-April, has quickly emerged as a top wideout option for position coach Billy Gonzales since his return to Gainesville.

Pursued heavily by Gonzales and well-established area recruiter Jabbar Juluke, the three-star prospect — whom several schools believe is flying under the radar — has reciprocated interest in the UF program, and then some.

He named Florida his leader at the time of his offer in an interview with AG.

“I’m not gonna lie, from today, I’m going to say they are No. 1 just because I already vibe with them like crazy,” he said on April 19. “It was really surprising. I really never thought that something like this would really happen.”

Standing at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Turner is a talented utility piece with the ability to align both inside and out at the next level. Possessing the length needed to occupy a boundary receiver role and the speed (10.59-100 meter dash) to work out of the slot, the Gators have pitched the idea of moving Turner around the offensive formation as a matchup-based weapon if he were to choose orange and blue as his collegiate colors.

Accordingly, Turner's tape suggests the ability to quickly emerge as a three-level pass catcher for 2024 quarterback pledge DJ Lagway

There isn’t a firm timeline for Turner’s eventual commitment at this point. He’s willing to take until the end of his senior season to announce his decision.

However, with what’s currently scheduled to be a one-on-one weekend with Turner, Florida will hope to capitalize on its standing as the top player in his recruitment to lock him down earlier than expected.
