Xavier Robinson announced his commitment to the Oklahoma Sooners as DeMarco Murray lands his first running back of the #24K class. The three-star running back out of Carl Albert High School initially planned to announce his commitment on May 10th. However, Robinson changed his tune, deciding to take official visits to Iowa State on June 9th, Oklahoma on June 12th, and Oklahoma State on June 22nd.

At 6-2 227 pounds, Xavier Robinson has solidified himself as the best running back in Oklahoma. Playing at Carl Albert, a school well-known for its notorious running backs, Robinson stands out from the past greats- the first and only 2,000-yard rusher in a single season. Robinson’s dominant and historic season for the Titans led to a 12-2 record and getting to hoist the Gold Ball Trophy for the 17th time in school history. Robinson did it all for the Titans in their 49-7 route against McAlester, rushing 22 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns, catching two passes for 22 yards and a touchdown, and passing for 28 yards and another score.

Junior Season

In his junior season, Xavier Robinson rushed for 2,598 yards and 39 touchdowns. Robinson has great patience in the backfield, waiting for a hole to open, and when it does, his explosiveness is unstoppable. Robinson also makes excellent cuts in the backfield, specifically on the counter plays that the Titans repeatedly ran, giving himself a separation that the opposing defenses could not combat. It’s all over for opposing teams once Robinson breaks through the second line of defense, as he will add six points to his team’s scoreboard.

Xavier Robinson’s strength is unparalleled as a high school running back, using his big frame to power through some of the top schools in 5A football. Oklahoma’s running back coach, DeMarco Murray, has landed a great, homegrown talent only a mere 30 miles away from Norman.
