It was former UConn Huskies running back Donald Brown's turn to impress
the scouts at the NFL Combine and that he did. Brown finished as a top
performer in 6 of the 7 categories and left an impression on Charles
Rogers.
While Charlie Casserly was not totally impressed with former UConn
Huskies offensive lineman Will Beatty, the rest of the NFL Network
panel was.
In his latest mock draft for Scouts, Inc., Todd McShay has UConn's
Darius Butler being the first Husky taken in the draft. He has the New
England Patriots drafting him in the 2nd round (47th overall). McShay
also has the Patriots drafting Will Beatty in the 2nd round (58th
overall).
If you believe the rumors you are hearing about Randy Edsall going to Georgia Tech, don't. They are just rumors. With Edsall having children still in high school, odds are he won't be leaving anytime soon.
Still with Chan Gailey getting canned at Georgia Tech and Edsall having spent a year there as defensive coordinator and the Huskies having a great season, rumors will fly.
It's official UConn Huskies football fans. They are heading to the Meineke Car Care Bowl in Charlotte, NC on December 29th to face an unknown opponent from the ACC. The game will be carried on ESPN. It looks as though it will either be Wake Forest or Florida State.
The University of Connecticut football team continued it's run in the Big East as they picked up another huge win over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 38-19 in front of 40,000 chilled fans at Rentschler Field. The win puts the Huskies at 8-1 and are on top of the Big East standings with a 4-0 record in conference play.
