East Carolina remains option for Big East expansion
There are good reasons East Carolina is still being prominently mentioned among the candidates for Big East Conference expansion in football.
In fact, if average home attendance were the deciding factor, East Carolina would be the most logical choice, having averaged 49,665 fans per game last season in its 50,000-seat stadium in Greenville, N.C.
ECU football averaged 10...

Rumored since last week, Holtz will leave East Carolina after five seasons where he amassed a 38-27 record of including trips to four bowl games. Holtz is the son of former Notre Dame and current ESPN analyst Lou [...]

East Carolina Players Suspended for Fighting over a Piece of Cheesecake
Some stories are so far fetched that they really are difficult to believe. If both Jonathan Williams and Leonard Paulk hadn’t been suspended by East Carolina for the Liberty Bowl, I would have doubted the truth of this story. But as it stands, coach Skip Holtz confirmed the two were involved in an [...]

Liberty Bowl dessert tray tears East Carolina teammates apart
The Liberty Bowl is one of the oldest active bowl games, and has attracted most of the nation's powerhouses at some point over its 50-year history, including Bear Bryant's last game at Alabama in 1982. But perhaps the true essence of the Liberty Bowl experience lies not on the field, but in the banquet hall, where the pregame spread proved so irresistible on Thursday that a pair...

High School Football Program Takes Recruiting Hoax Hook, Line and Sinker
Would you trust this man to be a college football recruiter in your high school halls? The Croatan High School Cougars, of Carteret County, North Carolina, did, as well as others, and it's kind of bit them, embarrassingly, in the ass.
For reasons that have yet to be made entirely clear, Kodey Alexander Kroger spent several weeks posing as a "student-recruiter" for the East Carolina...

Liberty Bowl: The Wildcats to Meet the Pirates
Now, the final bowl selections are not final, however, reports are coming out that both the Liberty Bowl and the Music City Bowl are going to send invitations to Kentucky. Kentucky, in turn, is expected to accept the invitation to the Liberty Bowl, thus sending Vanderbilt to the Music City Bowl. It appears that the Wildcats' opponent will be East Carolina behind upstart coach Skip...

NC State upsets No. 15 East Carolina 30-24 in OT
No. 15 East Carolina escaped disaster last week, edging out unranked Tulane 28-24 when QB Patrick Pinkney threw a 24-yard touchdown pass with under two minutes remaining in the game. But the Cinderella Pirates couldn't pull off a similar feat this week as the NC State Wolfpack stunned ECU 30-24 in overtime on Saturday.

East Carolina Upsets Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech walked into the game thinking they were going to have an easy time with the unranked East Carolina Pirates. They had just named Sean Glennon their starting quarterback, and were hoping to better their #17 ranking. The problem is that they were hoping and not prepared!

An Impact Moment - Chris Johnson and his 4.24 40-yard dash
With all the talk about McFadden and his 4.33 Forty, let us not forget Chris Johnson and his inhuman speed. EA's NCAA Football got it right, maybe we should pay more attention.

We're Going Bowling: Papajohns.com Bowl
This bowl has definitely earned the right to be called the worst named bowl in history. Honestly, papajohns.com bowl? Papa John's sucks enough, the fact that a bowl is named after their website is just discouraging. The sad thing is, the game probably won't be a whole lot better than the name, pitting South Florida v. East Carolina.
