P. Smith to transfer to UCF
Former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Phil Smith will transfer to Central Florida to complete his college career.
Smith, a two-year starter for the Yellow Jackets, left the team following the season after two separate suspensions. Smith will graduate from Tech with a management degree in May and will be immediately eligible to play. Central Florida is coached by former Tech coach...

They had a devil of a time but Georgia Tech wins at Duke
Watching the Yellow Jackets first drive of the game go nowhere and resulting in a punt was not giving me a positive vibe. After seeing CPJ’s expression on the sideline it was obvious that he was in meltdown mode as well. Then if that wasn’t aggravating enough, seeing Duke go 59 yards in four plays scoring a touchdown right down the middle of the field to a wide open...

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have the eye of the tiger(s)
First of all congratulations to the Yellow Jackets for not only the win, but their outstanding effort on both sides of the ball for all sixty minutes on Saturday. After the recent road difficulties the prior two weeks, this was a much needed game to fuel this team for the remainder of the schedule. Now Georgia Tech has to take advantage of some home cooking the balance of the...

Washington gives boost to Georgia Tech's attack
Tevin Washington is aiming for Joe Hamilton's passing standards at Georgia Tech.
That should be no surprise.
There has been a great deal of futility in the passing game at Georgia Tech since Hamilton completed his career in 1999 as the Heisman Trophy runner-up.
Washington is in position to end the school's streak of nine straight years where the starting quarterback had...

Video: Georgia Tech Goes Trippy Mane at Home Games
I give you… Georgia Tech’s new intro video. Outside of giving 3 out of every 10 viewers a seizure, it also has done wonders for the GT offense who is averaging 53 points and 398 rushing yards a game. I truly hope the next step in this video lifespan will be for Paul Johnson to [...]

Washington doing just enough for Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech quarterback Tevin Washington is delighted his team finally has a balanced offense.
The No. 21 Yellow Jackets lead the nation in total offense, rushing, scoring and - surprisingly - pass efficiency.
Hardly anyone expected Georgia Tech (4-0, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) to be much of a threat in the air this season after it finished 2010 ranked 113th in pass efficiency...

VIDEO: Georgia Tech’s Stephen Hill makes amazing one-handed catch
Many of you probably saw either a picture of Atlanta Falcons rookie Julio Jones making an unreal one-handed catch in pre-game warm-ups prior to the matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
This catch by Georgia Tech’s 6’5″ wideout Stephen Hill was en par with Jones’ catch– if not better– given it was in-game and made on a wounded duck of a throw.
Talk about...

The Kansas Jayhawks are road kill after the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets establish NCAA history
After last season’s upset loss in Lawrence, Kansas Coach Paul Johnson upheld nature’s law of lightning not striking twice by not only dismantling the Jayhawks, but for good measure setting an NCAA rushing record in the process. So now Kansas is going to be carried into the record books of college football as the Yellow Jackets averaged over twelve yards per rushing attempt...

Ga. Tech tries to outdo UGA with Coke display
Is this the new hotness—store displays created out of Coke products showcasing college football teams? Or is this just a Georgia thing? Whatever it is, I think this Georgia Tech display trumps the Georgia display I featured a couple of days ago, in both grandeur and creativity.
Even though the Yellow Jackets football team will more than likely suck ass this year, at least...

Meet Reuben Foster: The best LB prospect you’ve ever seen…
that isn’t old enough to obtain a driver’s license in his home state. Seriously, Frumpsters. File this kid’s freak’s name away somewhere, and remember that you may or may not have first heard about him via your friends at Frumpzilla. Foster is a Freshman at Troup County High School in LaGrange, Georgia. That’s right, [...]

Demaryius Thomas Will Miss Combine
Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas will miss the combine after suffering a broken foot while training on Wednesday. His agent, Todd France, told SI.com:
There are no longterm effects from the injury and Demaryius will be 100 percent by the time OTA’s begin. If surgery hastens the healing process, that is something we will consider.
It [...]

With time to prepare, Iowa shuts down Georgia Tech's ground attack
Brian McLaughlin, Sporting News
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Georgia Tech's potent triple option rushing attack getting bottled up, as it was against Iowa in the Orange Bowl on Tuesday night, is about as rare as South Florida temperatures in the 40s at kickoff.
The Hawkeyes swarmed to the ball and overwhelmed the Yellow Jackets.
The reason for Georgia...

Place: Miami
The line: Georgia Tech by 5
Three reasons Georgia Tech will win
1. Excellence of execution. Maybe at lesser levels, or with lesser teams, stopping an option offense comes down to outsmarting the quarterback and not falling for fakes. The Yellow Jackets' scheme adds a twist, though&mdash...
