(Photo/Theophil Syslo) The UMass Lowell River Hawks split the weekend with a upset loss to the Sacred Heart Pioneers on Friday night and a win against in-state rival Massachusetts Minutemen. While the River Hawks started their regular season, UMass Lowell’s commitments have been in action for over a month. This week’s future River Hawks were highlighted by the play of Tommy Panico (’95) of the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the USHL. Panico tallied a goal and an assist during one of his two games this week to double his season point total to four points. Ryan Collins‘ point streak ended this week after scoring a point in every game this season. Collins tallied an assist this week for his lowest weekly point total of the season.
