Brown University won the 2026 College Open Fleet Race National Championship held May 19-22 in St. Petersburg, FL. The Bears were led by Blake Behrens ’27 and Caroline Keeffe-Jones ’26 winning B Division with Guthrie Braun ’26 and Vera Allen ’27 finishing third in A Division.

I've been photographing Alaskan Brown Bears for over 15 years. It started as a hobby and soon turned into something more. Over the years, the two questions I'm asked the most are, "How close to the bears are you?" and "Aren't you afraid?" The closest I've been to an Alaskan Brown Bear is six feet, and it wasn't by choice.
