SU missing out on the best players in New York

Those of you that know me, know that I love following recruiting in both basketball and football. And those that have been reading my blog (and the ones before this one dealing with SU) know that I was very big on the job that head coach Greg Robinson did last year in recruiting in-state talent.

The SU roster gets smaller once again

I have to say this, I'm writing this blog in disbelief, total disbelief. Another Syracuse player, Matt Jones (LB, 6'3"/220 lbs.), has been told that his grades aren't up to standards and he will not be able to come to the hill this pre-season.

Who should go up on the Carrier Dome's walls next?

I've been reading around the SU blogs that the University of Texas is preparing to retire Kevin Durant's number and that, to some of the Orange bloggers, that makes no sense. While I can understand their points of view, I do not agree with them, at least not entirely.

Early Point Spreads Released

The leader in picking college football games, CollegeFootballPoll.com, has released its MAC, Big East and Pac10 previews. I don't believe there's a more accurate operation out there for setting lines and picking W/L records in college football. Sure, I love to read the hundreds of previews   more...

My choice for the next SU head coach

A while back I had begun to read about what if Greg Robinson was gone. Many gave their opinion, and now I am going to give mine. I'm going to start off by saying that the head coach I am choosing is someone I have watched over the years, since being a Tar Heel (for those of you didn't know that), I   more...

Florida Football: Is Meyer an Urban Legend or Urban Liar?

Whether you believe he's a legend in the making or a liar, Urban Meyer stokes passions on all sides.Legend advocates will cite his second-year National Championship and a sophomore Heisman Trophy winner. Liar advocates are lining up against Meyer as stories continue to build, just as bridges   more...

Rutgers and Schiano doing "sneaky" business, and I love it!

As I roamed into one of my favorite blogs, ZAGSBLOG, I read this short blog about Greg Schiano, the football head coach for Rutgers. The blog sent me to the front of the story, an article in The Star-Ledger. Read both of the links I gave you and then I will tell you my opinion about all of this.

Greg Robinson's word association is: Hot Seat

I was flipping through the channels today, there are always such bad shows when holidays are upon us. But nevermind the TV listings, let me go back to this blog. As I flipped on some gameshow it was a type of word association, so I began to think about one when it comes to Syracuse football.

tcbailey24's College Basketball Team

With ESPN releasing their All American college basketball team today, I decided to create my own team of current college players. Now, my team doesn't have all the star players or the ones you would think would be on it or the most well known or popular players, but I guarantee if this team played   more...

Another tid bit about what Boeheim thinks of the Jennings story

As I continued to dig over the blog about Brandon Jennings and his going to Europe because he didn't pass the SAT's I found another piece that has head coach Jim Boeheim talking about the situation. And just like last blog I did coach Boeheim is sharp and to the point, and just like last time, I   more...

Big East Fantasy Preview

Athlon's fantasy conference previews continue with the Big East. How will the high-powered West Virginia attack adapt to a new head coach? Rutgers' wideout Kenny Britt is just one of many Scarlet Knight fantasy options in 2008. What about the UConn defense?

Could we see a white Dome and not an Orange one?

Before I write this blog let me say that the inspiration from it is because I read "The Dome could be very white on September 13th" by the "Three Idiots on Sports" blog. It talks about the day when a once yearly foe, Penn State, will come into the Carrier Dome for the first time in close to two   more...

Big East Football, first weekend action (Aug. 28-30)

How close are we to the college football season? So close that we are beginning to see Las Vegas oddsmakers are begging to put out the odds on the first games of the season.

A couple of possible recruits for HC Boeheim

Even with head coach Jim Boeheim deep into his USA Basketball commitments it doesn't look like his coaching staff is letting anything, or should I say anyone, get past their attentive eyes.

Time to take a stand!

Those of you that read this blog or know me personally know that, while I enjoy Syracuse Men's basketball, I have sometimes been critical of head coach Jim Boeheim. Well, if I'm going to be critical of someone when I think he's wrong, I think that I should also have his back when he's right in what   more...
