Papa John’s John Schnatter is kind of a big deal in Louisville.
The face of the pizza empire not only has his headquarters there, he actually has donated more than $20 million to the University of Louisville. This donation included a $5 million lead gift in 1996 to help build the Cardinals’ football stadium, Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium — also known as “The Oven.”
“Papa” John Schnatter is, of course, the founder of the Papa John’s pizza franchise, and he’s a graduate of Ball State University. But as most people already know, Papa John is a huge University of Louisville supporter, as his company holds the naming rights to Louisville’s football stadium. After all, Ball State is the Cardinals and so is Louisville, so it is what it is...

HOLD ON I'M WATCHING THIS
YouTube Ahh, those dreaded AT&T commercials. ”We want more. We want more.” ”Sand full of sugar.” ”Tape a cheetah to her back.” Fine, the last one is alright. The Ball State baseball team put together a spoof of the ads in their effort to tout sophomore starting pitcher Josh Baker as an All-American. The MAC Pitcher of the Year threw 99 and 1/3 innings spanning...

Freshman Markus Burden won’t have to pay for his spring semester (valued at over $11K) at Ball State, thanks to his halfcourt miracle shot below. According to the Star Press, Burden was chosen at random by the school during a Thursday night Welcome Week activity at Worthen Arena.
The shot and celebration are worth watching multiple times:
Ball State incoming freshman Markus Burden hasn’t even started his first semester as a college student but that hasn’t stopped him from already establishing himself as a legend around campus. During the school’s “Welcome Week” for incoming students, Burden buried his fourth and final attempt at a half-court shot to win free tuition for a semester.
It’s undoubtedly the...
Freshman Markus Burden, who will be attending Ball State for presumably the next four years, made his life a little easier financially by nailing a half-court shot this past week. Burden was selected randomly from the crowd to have the opportunity to hit the half-court shot and he took advantage by making his 4th attempt at the prize. Not sure why he got 4 attempts, but I digress…...
On Thursday, Ball State freshman Markus Burden hit a halfcourt shot and won free tuition for one semester. One report says that he will receive $11,000, while the Ball State website says that tuition is $7,000-8,000 for in-state tuition. Pretty great way to start off your first week of school.

It has taken a lot of self-control not to go off on a massive rant about last week’s performance. Many hours were spent meditating and practicing yoga (not really) and I have come to terms with a lot of things. First, we have a great defense. Not good, not very good, but great. Sure we got trounced by Oregon, but they are in the elite air this year. Everyone else we face, save...
