No. 20 Women’s Water Polo Gears Up for Pair of Contests at Mercyhurst

No. 20 Harvard women’s water polo returns to action on the East Coast after a week-long California road trip for a pair of matches against Mercyhurst and Gannon in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Crimson takes on Mercyhurst Saturday, March 25 at 6 p.m., before squaring off with Gannon for the second time this year on Sunday, March 26 at 9 a.m.

Junior Sami Strutner scored the game-winner in extra time, while sophomore Kristen Hong and freshman Sofia Carrera-Justiz each recorded a pair of goals to help the Crimson to the one-goal victory.

Freshman defenseman Adam Fox has been named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year, as announced by the league office Friday, March 17. Fox and forward Alexander Kerfoot were selected to the All-ECAC Hockey first team, forward Ryan Donato was tabbed to the second team and goaltender Merrick Madsen earned a spot on the third team.
