Rohit Sharma recently appeared in the Club Prairie Fire podcast, where spoke about cricket with the hosts, Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist . Sharma was asked about the rumored meeting he had with Ajit Agarkar and Rahul Dravid

Many reports in the past few days have claimed that Rohit Sharma, Ajit Agarkar and Rahul Dravid had a long meeting in Mumbai regarding the 2024 T20 World Cup squad. The reports have also stated that Virat Kohli will be opening for India. When asked by the hosts regarding the selections, Sharma said they shouldn’t believe any report and wait for the three to speak.

In today's age, until and unless you don't hear from me, Rahul bhai or Ajit bhai, everything else is fake. Rohit Sharma on Club Prairie Fire

During the episode, Adam Gilchrist and Sharma reminisced about their time at Deccan Chargers (DC), where they were captain and vice-captain respectively. The duo were a part of their 2009 title-winning team. The former DC captain also played the team’s theme song and Sharma claimed it was the greatest IPL theme song.

Rohit Sharma isn’t a fan of the Impact Player rule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced the Impact Player rule in the 2022/23 Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament. The rule stated that a team could replace a player in the playing XI with a player on their bench. It was then implemented in the 2023 IPL and has become a mainstay, but Indian captain Rohit Sharma wants it removed.

I am not a big fan of Impact sub rule. It is going to hold all rounders back, eventually cricket is played by 11 players not 12 players. You are taking out so much from the game to make it entertaining for people around.  Rohit Sharma said

He noted how players like Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar were affected by the rule as they couldn’t contribute with the ball. Many players have also commented on how the Impact Player rule has negatively affected Indian cricket
