The former Indian coach Ravi Shastri, who shares a great bond with the former Indian captain Virat Kohli, feels that  that batter can't relax now. Earlier, Virat Kohli got a duck at Perth to Mitchell Starc. He couldn't overcome in Adelaide, as Xavier Bartlett got him for the same but much faster than Starc.

Speaking about Virat's form, Shastri felt that Kohli can't wait, as the line for Number 3 is pretty long. Speaking to Fox Sports, Shastri said,

“He’ll have to get some form pretty quickly. The competition for places is such in India in white-ball cricket, no one is going to relax, whether it’s Virat or Rohit or anyone in the team."

Notably, it has been for the first time in his 17 years of elusive career that he got out on ducks in two back-to-back matches. On that Shastri added,

“It’s not going to be easy, there is competition. He’s missed out again today, he was a little tentative with his footwork. It doesn’t happen often, his record in one-day cricket is phenomenal, so for him to get two ducks on the trot, he’ll be disappointed.”

Simply acknowledging the crowd: Sunil Gavaskar

The former Indian cricketer Sunil Cricketer refutes all kinds of retirement claims of Virat Kohli. The retirement rumors rose especially after Virat Kohli waved at the Adelaide crowd while leaving after getting dismissed. Speaking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar claimed that Virat will never announce retirement after two ducks. He said,

"Virat Kohli is not the type of player who will give up this easily. Do you really think he will retire after scores of 0 and 0? Absolutely no. He will aim to retire on a high note. There is the Sydney game ahead, followed by the ODI series at home against South Africa, and there are a lot of ODIs left. I would say the 2027 World Cup will be for Kohli, alongside Rohit."

Sunil Gavaskar further denied reading deep into Kohli's gesture to the Adelaide crowd. He felt that the Aussie fans too must be disappointed to see Kohli without runs. Gavaskar added,

"Normally, when you get a big score, you acknowledge it with your bat raised or your helmet or cap off. But this was just his way of thanking the crowd for the reception and the ovation they gave him. Don't read too much into it."

Sunil Gavaskar also supported Kohli, saying that a few failures are allowed for a player who already has "more than 14,000 runs, 52 ODI centuries, and I think 32 Test centuries."
