NEW YORK - JULY 02: Reigning champion Joey Chestnut (R) stands on a scale at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest official weigh-in ceremony July 2, 2009 in New York City. Chestnut defeated arch rival Takeru Kobayashi of Japan in an overtime battle last year by consuming 64 hot dogs. (Photo by Mario Tama/Getty Images)
Joey Chestnut did it again.  He pounded a record tying 68 dogs in 10 minutes to win his 6th consecutive hot dog eating title and took home a 10 grand first place prize..  Second place went to Tim Janus of New York with 52 hot dogs, who received $5,000. Third place went to Patrick Bertoletti of Chicago with 51, who won $2,500.  Clearly we all know his biggest competition wasn't in the contest because Takeru Kobayashi was banned two years ago when he wouldn't sign an exclusive contract with Major League Eating.  He tried to record an eating contest last year and put it online but nobody really paid much attention to it.  Chestnut is the clear champion and reps AMERICA like a boss. Congrats Joey for the title and next year he can break Kobayashi's record for consecutive wins with his 7th.
