See how I tried to justify this pictorial spread of the lovely and talented Miss Kate Upton modeling shoes for the Sam Edelman footwear brand by pointing out that athletes wear shoes, too, so it is more than fitting to post these pics on a sports blog? Granted, the logic employed is loaded with flaws — most athletes don’t wear the kind of high-heeled, glamorous shoes Upton is sporting in these pics (save for Dennis Rodman) — but still, you cannot argue with the results. Kate Upton apparently is the new muse for the Edelman line, and ad guy David Lipman made the case for the choice of the gorgeous Upton by explaining, “We chose Kate because she isn’t stick thin. She’s beautiful and all-American.” Beautiful and all-American, indeed. Although she did go German for her highly anticipated Super Bowl commercial for Mercedes-Benz. But we’re not complaining. Additional images follow. Fantastic. One question: Kate Upton was wearing shoes? Interesting. Didn’t notice. And with that in mind, this campaign  is about shoes? It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode “The Airport.” Jerry gets to sit in first class and Elaine is relegated to coach and the model Jerry is seated next to shows him a new magazine ad she is in that’s for jeans but the jeans are barely visible. Once again, not that we’re complaining.
