Bill Murray remains one of the funniest and most entertaining men on the planet today. He's also an avid sports fan, and he has a way of intertwining that humor, entertainment and love of sports in a pretty special way.
He was at it again on Tuesday, as he was inducted into the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame. The Sally League, as it's often referred to, is a Single-A league, and Murray has been an owner in the league since the 1980s.
As a new member of the league's Hall of Fame, Murray was called upon to deliver a speech. The ceremony, which was part of the league's All-Star festivities, took place with the league's best players looking on.
Murray took the opportunity to tell some jokes, but also to impart his wisdom on the hardball hopefuls.
"Living life, the game of life, you can make a lot more interesting if you make it a game for yourself," Murray told the prospects. "It's not a rehearsal. it's not practice. It's real. This life is real. This is the real thing. If you can stay light and stay loose and stay relaxed, you can play at the very highest level as a baseball player or as a human being."
The actor also talked about his first time visiting Wrigley Field as a child. The avid Cubs fan summed up one's first trip to a ballpark about as well as you can.
"My heart just leapt and I thought, 'Ah, this is where I'm supposed to be,'" he said of his trips to Wrigley. "This feels like one of my homes. Maybe I was at home here a long time ago."

1. Bill Murray is the coolest guy in the entire world and should be inducted into everybody’s Hall Of Fame, if only for the speeches. 2. It needs to get remixed with clips of Max Fischer sitting in the...
Bill Murray, who is the Charleston RiverDogs’ co-owner and Director of Fun, was inducted into the South Atlantic League Hall of Fame on Tuesday. Murray absolutely nails a 10-minute plus speech which will leave you laughing, and for some reason Brian Cashman was front and center. This made me want to fire up ‘Caddyshack.’
