ESPN sideline reporter Jenn Brown took batting practice with the South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team at the College World Series recently, and if you’ve never seen the former Florida Gators softball player take a cut, it’s a thing of beauty. Lost Letterman compares her to Ichiro. Not sure I’d go that far, but it’s close. At the very least she looks a lot better swinging a bat than Rachel Nichols would. She even gives switch-hitting a try, but just like me, she’s better from the left than the right. Unlike me, she hits most of the balls thrown her way, and she never does that thing where she pretends like her wrists are hurting and that’s why she’s not doing well. If that’s not enough to make you watch the video, here’s the hard sell from South Carolina coach Ray Tanner: “She’s got a really nice swing; really nice swing. Technique, fluid, and she’s got better wheels than anyone we’ve got,” Tanner said. “She’s a step faster than Tanner English. She’s got nice wheels. Hav

ESPN’s Jenn Brown Takes BP… She Can Rake!

Jenn Brown decided to take some batting practice with the South Carolina Gamecocks before the College World Series vs. the Arizona Wildcats. Dude, I hate to say this, but this really got my attention. I don’t know, there’s something sexy about it, and she’s sexy already.

Well, here we are again.  The Gamecocks are one game away from going home.  After Sunday night's loss South Carolina needs to win Monday night and Tuesday night to improbably become the three time national champion.  This will be the 8th must win game for Carolina in the last three years in Omaha.  USC is 7-0 in the past 7 elimination games. Who is going to pitch for us...

Gamecocks Football: 67 Days Until Kickoff

Today there are 67 days until kickoff 67 is the number of offensive plays run against Georgia last season.  The Gamecocks ran 67 plays for 395 yards on their way to a 45-42 win. Why does this number matter?  Georgia is the favorite to win the SEC East this year (in large part because of their easy SEC West schedule).  One of the Bulldogs' strengths appears to be their defense...

Gamecocks' CWS run nearly historic

All good things must come to an end. Otherwise how would we know they were good? For the South Carolina Gamecocks, the good times stopped at two. That was the number of the consecutive College World Series titles the school took into this year's finale. They had hoped to add a third, a streak that would have moved the program from merely great into the realm of dynasties such...

The 2012 College World Series has come and gone, and in its’ wake, it has crowned a new champion. For the first time in a few years, the South Carolina Gamecocks are not the National Champions. In fact, no team from the SEC is celebrating today. That honor belongs to the Arizona Wildcats, who prevented the Gamecocks from capturing their third consecutive National Championship...
