Mandy Moore suggests Olivia Rodrigo for 'A Walk to Remember' reboot

A Walk to Remember began shattering hearts 20 years ago Tuesday (Jan. 25), and Mandy Moore thinks it's about time somebody revive her role of Jamie Sullivan.

"Olivia Rodrigo or something like that," Moore told People when asked about rebooting the romantic teen drama. "Someone could redo this film."

"I would love to see it. It's been long enough that, yeah, I feel like we've earned our place in cinematic history for a reboot at this point," she added.

Adapted from Nicholas Sparks' novel by the same name, A Walk to Remember starred Moore as Jamie, the daughter of Reverend Sullivan (Peter Coyote), who is secretly suffering from leukemia. Landon Carter (Shane West), the high school's bad boy, must participate in the school play in order to avoid expulsion and has to ask Jamie for help with his lines.

They, of course, fall rapidly in love despite Jamie making Landon promise not to fall in love with her because of her terminal leukemia diagnosis.

Moore posted a video to celebrate the seminal film's landmark anniversary. Watch below.
