For the second time in a month, rumors have been swirling that Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki are engaged. Last month, Serena Williams’ hitting partner made everyone believe the power couple had taken the next step in their relationship with a prank on Twitter. Then on Friday, reports surfaced that Wozniacki showed up to the Brisbane International sporting a diamond ring on her left ring finger. According to McIlroy, the couple is not engaged. The world’s No. 1 golfer said that the rumors are untrue in a short statement on Friday afternoon. “On behalf of Rory McIlroy I would like to confirm that he has NOT become engaged to Caroline Wozniacki as was originally reported in Australian press,” the statement said according to The Score. “Rory is in Australia to support Caroline before he heads in January to Abu Dhabi.” Adding to the speculation earlier this week was this photo. As some of our commenters pointed out, you can see a tiny speck on Caroline’s left ring finger that could potentially be some sort of ring, but the photo is not nearly clear enough to tell. On one hand, I’m inclined to subscribe to the “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” theory. On the other hand, Rory and Woz seem to love the public spotlight and showing everyone how much they adore each other. In fact, it even gets sickening at times. Are they really the type of couple that would keep an engagement a secret? It seems unlikely. Photo credit: Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

Joseph Fauria tweets that Russell Wilson stole his gal?

Detroit Lions tight end Joseph Fauria sent out an incredibly strange tweet after his team’s win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. So weird, in fact, that one has to wonder if he was hacked. Shortly after midnight on Sunday, Fauria wrote something about Russell Wilson stealing his girlfriend. He quickly deleted the tweet, but not...Read More

Brady: 'Blame CBS and NBC' for putting in-game swearing on air

In the heat of the moment, Tom Brady has a pottymouth. Brady has been clickbait material for blogs and Twitter users in recent weeks when cameras have caught him ranting and raving on the sidelines, dropping F-bombs left and right. The most recent example came Sunday night when the New England Patriots quarterback stomped up and down the sideline, cursing like a sailor in an attempt...

Big 12 may look to expand, hold football title game

Would the Big 12 look west for a new member? The biggest loser on college football's Selection Sunday was the Big 12 Conference.  Baylor and TCU tied for champions of the league and both were the first two teams out of the Final Four.  TCU had the committee's love last week but Baylor owned the tiebreaker.  The Big 12 commish didn't do his league any favors by wavering...

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James may wear an “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt during warm-ups for the Cavs’ game against the Brooklyn Nets Monday night — a game that Britain's Prince William and his wife, Duchess Kate Middleton, plan to attend. “It's possible,” James told Cleveland.com. “I'm looking for one. Jeff Fisher trolls Robert Griffin III during coin toss

Jeff Fisher isn’t the first person to execute a successful troll job, nor will he be the last. Yet that doesn’t make Sunday’s subtle move any less impressive. Before his team’s game against the Washington Redskins, the St. Louis Rams head coach sent six captains out to midfield for the coin toss — Janoris Jenkins, Michael Brockers, Zac Stacy, Stedman Bailey, Greg Robinson...

Everyone freak out. Embattled San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh met with Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis prior to the team’s game at O.co in Oakland on Sunday. Report: Singletary expected to get head coaching job

Will a familiar name be back in the head coaching ranks next season? NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Mike Singletary will be a head coaching candidate next year and that “several high-ranking people believe he’ll have a job in 2015.” Singletary had a head coaching stint with the San Francisco 49ers that did not...Read More

TCU players furious about College Football Playoff snub

You can argue that no college football team had a worse day than TCU. The Horned Frogs were No. 3 in last week’s College Football Playoff rankings and beat Iowa State by 52 points on Saturday, but fell in the most recent rankings to No. 6 and will miss out on the Playoff. As you can imagine, some TCU players cannot believe that their team won’t get the chance to play for a national...

Ex-Redskin London Fletcher blasts Jim Haslett

As one of the most underrated players in league history, former Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher was seen as a true leader on the Skins’ teams he played for from 2007 until he retired following last season. He also played under current Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett for four seasons in Washington. So to say that Fletcher has a working knowledge of his...
