Everyone knows comedian Seth Meyers from his work on Saturday Night Live. But did you know he’s a Northwestern alum. Stephen Colbert isn’t the only famous funnyman who matriculated at the private university at Evanston.

He served as Grand Marshall for the Homecoming festivities this year, and played beer pong while tailgating at Ryan Field. He also made a hilarious comment in an interview during the game, a loss to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Watch the video after the jump.

Lisa Byington of the Big Ten Network interviews Meyers. He mentions the connection between the current financial crisis and his decision not to attend the 1996 Rose Bowl which featured Northwestern. Remember, 1995 is “Year 1″ is NU college football lore.
