The Greatest Performances Ever At The Billboard Latin Awards

Easily one of the highlights of the 2011 Latin Music Awards, Pitbull, a.k.a. Mr. Worldwide, was joined on stage by T-Pain, master of the auto-tune, to perform "Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor" in Miami, the former's home turf. 

Despite nearly being derailed by a faulty mic, Carlos Santana and Mexican rock band Mana further cemented their legendary status at the 2009 awards, where they performed "Corazon Espinado." 

For nearly two decades, La Ley was one of the most influential Latin rock bands. Sadly, they broke up in 2004 (they would eventually reunite in 2013), but not before performing at the Billboard Latin Awards that year. 

You can't legitimately write about the Billboard Latin Awards and not talk about Enrique Iglesias. The problem is that Kike has so many memorable moments at the awards that it's hard to pick just one. But if we were forced to choose, we'd go with his 2014 appearance, where he was accompanied by Gente De Zona for hit massive hit "Bailando." 

The Colombian pop diva and the Ex-Fugee set fire to the roof at the 2006 awards with their performance of "Hips Don't Lie" just weeks after the hit took over the world. 

Easily one of the most culturally significant moments in Billboard Latin Awards history was Jennifer Lopez's touching tribute to Selena, whom she portrayed in the biopic that would forever link the two. J. Lo's performance was made even more emotional by the fact that her backing band was Los Dinos, which is made up of Selena's widowed husband, brother, and sister. 

Talking about collaborations made in heaven! Alicia Keys performed her massive hit "If I Ain't Got You" at the 2004 awards accompanied by jazz legend Arturo Sandoval. 

It's unclear exactly why Puff Daddy joined reggaetonero Daddy Yankee onstage for the latter's megahit "Gasolina" at the 2005 awards, but we're really glad that it happened. 

There are many reasons why Calle 13 are amazing, and one of them was their performance of banger "Atrevete te te" at the 2007 awards. What's not to love about a blue tux-clad Residente surrounded by a handful of brides?

The Mexican pop icon has always had a reputation for being grandiose (justifiably so since she is a bona fide diva), and her performance of "Me Río De Ti" at the 2011 iteration of the Billboard Latin Awards were no exception. 

Not all of the most memorable performances at the Billboard Latin Awards have been joyous. Some of them have become bittersweet in retrospect. Case in point: Jenni Rivera's amazing medley at the 2012 awards, which occurred several months before she died in a plane crash. 

Another bittersweet moment in Billboard Latin Awards history. In 2016, Juan Gabriel, who epitomizes the word "legend," was joined on stage by Alejandro Fernandez, ranchero royalty in his own right. JuanGa would tragically die of a heart attack in August of that year.
