NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 13: Singer Gwen Stefani watches the match between Roger Federer of Switzerland and Novak Djokovic of Serbia on day fourteen of the 2009 U.S. Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on September 13, 2009 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Welcome to Today’s Best by MSF. This is our daily rundown of links, laughs, and lovely ladies that will help you get through your work day.

In today’s edition, Gwen Stefani proves why she is – no doubt – a beauty worth recognizing, we recognize the real Royal Wedding, DJ Steve Porter gets everyone ready for the NFL Draft, and Jack Edwards makes everyone say…WTF?

Best of MSF

Make sure to get your MLB Trivia Challenge quiz completed by midnight tonight to be eligible for the first $20 gift certificate from Chili’s and to stay on pace in the race for the iPad and MLB.tv subscription.

Also, the NFL Draft is tonight. Join us for a live blog starting at 7:30 ET.

Best of the Web

I didn’t really find anything that qualifies today, and I’m running a bit short on time. In lieu of a link, this gives me the opportunity to remind you to email tb@midwestsportsfans.com with tips for Today’s Best.

Update: Scratch that, I found something more than worthy. CBS News reporter Lara Logan describes horrific sexual assault in Egypt.

Today’s Best Beauty

Gwen Stefani has always been one of my secret crushes. I am not naturally attracted to blondes, but I do enjoy her eclectic style, the fact that she seems like the rare well-rounded and grounded celebrity, and that she and No Doubt actually made some pretty good music back in the day (some it anyway).

Combine that with the fact that Stefani donated $1,000,000 to the relief efforts in Japan, specifically to the Save the Children’s Japan Earthquake-Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund, and it warrants her recognition as Today’s Best Beauty.

For more fun photos of Gwen, Google Images actually does a pretty nice job.

NFL owners: denied.

There is never not a good time to link to this, from our friends at The Sports Hernia: the many faces of Skip Bayless.

The new Bill Simmons sports site is going to be awesome. (Or, as Today’s Best Beauty might describe it, b-a-n-a-n-a-s.)

The New York Yankees: not only do their gouge their fans with ridonkulously high ticket prices, but they release their personal information too.

I agree with Jim Margalus here: confidence in Buehrle up, confidence in Beckham down.

Hoop thoughts from Daily Onions.

This will almost surely be the greatest headline/picture combination you’ll see all day.

Young girls need to be careful about what they write on Facebook…especially when they go to Evangelical Christian schools.

This is what you call sticktooitiveness.

This picture was posted on Reddit with the title “Correct posture for sitting at the computer.” Yeah, I’m sure that’s why it was posted.

Pics and GIFs

Everyone is going crazy about the Royal Wedding. Personally, I couldn’t care less. In fact, this picture that I found on Reddit is, I agree, a more personally apt depiction of a royal wedding.

The next time it’s cold outside and I need a jacket, I am going to attempt to get dressed like this:

Did you know…that President Obama would legitimately be president even if he had not been born in Hawaii? It’s true…at least according to the family lawyers of Mitt Romney and others.

Did you know…that Taco Bell’s cinnamon twists are made by boiling rotini noodles?

DJ Steve Porter remixes the NFL Draft. Get excited.

What the hell is Jack Edwards talking about here?

This video is either of a death metal vocalist warming up his voice or a voice actor practicing to be Cookie Monster and a pterodactyl. You decide.

As always, we end Today’s Best by paying homage to the original inspiration for this post: Hot Clicks by Jimmy Traina.
