Watch: Kate McKinnon debuts as Carole Baskin in 'JOE vs CAROLE' trailer

Kate McKinnon is Carole Baskin, and she says so in the opening line of Peacock's official trailer for JOE vs CAROLE.

The Saturday Night Live actress's comedic chops are still in tact despite the serious dicey matter of the series.

"JOE vs CAROLE is a scripted adaptation of the 2020 Wondery podcast Joe Exotic: Tiger King , hosted and reported by Robert Moor," the official synopsis explains. "The limited series will center on Carole Baskin (Kate McKinnon), a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe 'Exotic' Schreibvogel (John Cameron Mitchell) is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous."

Baskin's and Exotic's burning hatred for each other was, of course, injected into the mainstream pop culture discourse through Netflix's record-breaking Tiger King documentary series in March 2020:

Last Friday (Jan. 28), Exotic was re-sentenced to 21 years in prison—reduced by just one year from his original January 2020 federal conviction on "two counts of murder-for-hire, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act."

JOE vs CAROLE premieres March 3.
