– As noted yesterday here on the website, NBC has decided against going forward with its commitment to a drama pilot about 1980s professional wrestling involving Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as an executive producer and Jerry Bruckheimer’s production company. The option for the series was not renewed last month. Since NBC purchased the series and guaranteed a pilot episode would air, the network is believed to have paid a penalty for dropping the project.
– Jimmy Fallon’s production company, Holiday Road, recently pitched a wrestling-themed sitcom to NBC. The show has a tentative title of “Slammed” and was written by one of Fallon’s writers. It takes place behind-the-scenes of a wrestling promotion.
