Charles Leclerc identifies Monaco as a track Ferrari can 'easily' win a race in 2024
Lucas Peltier-USA TODAY Sports

Last weekend, during the Australian GP, Ferrari was at its best. The team pulled off a straight one-two in the race. Carlos Sainz managed a win despite undergoing an appendectomy two weeks ago, and his teammate, Charles Leclerc , took second place on the podium. Considering everything, Leclerc feels the Italian team can easily pull off a victory at certain tracks.

This year, Ferrari has been off to a better start compared to 2023, the team has scored a podium in each race till now and is putting a lot of pressure on Red Bull. As things stand, Ferrari is only four points behind the Austrian outfit to take first place in the constructors championship.

While talking to the media during the Australian GP weekend, Leclerc was asked where Ferrari could score another victory, he pointed out his home race in Monaco.

Our strength compared to Red Bull, is qualifying we tend to be a bit closer than what we are in a race If I see, so if I see an opportunity will be in Monaco, because in Monaco if you are starting on a pole… then things are a bit easier to keep the people behind. However, we need to wait and see. Charles Leclerc said in an interview with Fox sports Australia

It would be a dream come true for the Monegasque driver to win a race at home. However, things are not set in stone, the team is focusing on improving in the areas where they believe they need the work and Leclerc himself admitted that it is a challenge to get ahead of the reigning world champions.

Charles Leclerc claims Carlos Sainz is one of the ‘highest rated’ drivers in F1

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz make an excellent driver line-up. Both are talented and good at strategizing and putting the interests of the Maranello-based team first.

After the Australian GP, Leclerc was asked if Sainz is underrated in F1.

I think everybody knows Carlos’ worth in the paddock. He’s one of the highest-rated drivers in the paddock, and he’s been extremely strong every he was in a Formula 1 car, and he has shown it multiple times. So I don’t think he’s underrated for that. Carles Leclerc said in an interview with Sky sports

Carlos Sainz already has amassed immense interest from the various team principals ahead of the 2025 season. The ongoing campaign is only three races down and keeping in view the unpredictable nature of the driver market, it will be fascinating to see how Sainz’s 2025 saga develops in the upcoming months.
