Daniel Ricciardo , the former eight-time Grand Prix winner, has had an extremely torrid time during the ongoing 2024 F1 season. He has easily proved second best against VCARB teammate, Yuki Tsunoda but despite his struggles, he feels he can win races in the future.

Daniel Ricciardo‘s main goal since returning to the sport has been to secure the coveted Red Bull seat alongside Max Verstappen. However, because of his recent struggles, the probability of that happening has diminished significantly.

The 34-year-old is yet to score a point during the ongoing campaign.

And the truth is, if I draw a line under it and I speak about myself in the third person: Why did Daniel Ricciardo return after a few months off last year? Because I believe I can stand on the podium again. I can win races again. Daniel Ricciardo said in an interview with Speedcafe

The Australian has indicated that he has full faith in his abilities as a racing driver and thus feels he can win races again. Ricciardo in his prime years was a lethal force to be reckoned with at the pinnacle of motor racing.

Daniel Ricciardo wants to make people ‘proud of him’

While Ricciardo has made it crystal clear that he wants to get back to the top in F1, he has also taken the time to admit that he wants to make people proud of him. He believes that the initial few races of this year, do not define him as a racing driver.

The 34-year-old had a DNF at the Japanese Grand Prix.

I want to make people proud and I want people that support me to feel proud of what's going on. It's not even proving anything; it's just that you want to remind people—I want to remind some people that two races are not career-defining. Daniel Ricciardo said in the same interview

Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most adored drivers on the current F1 grid. He has a plethora of experience and has also got the skills to make it big once again. From his point of view, the next few rounds of the 2024 season will hold immense significance. It could make or break his dwindling racing career.
