Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton claims he’s helping Mercedes 2025 development as if ‘nothing has changed’

Lewis Hamilton shocked the sporting world this year when he announced that his Ferrari switch for 2025. Many believed that Mercedes would sideline the seven-time world champion when it came to next year’s car development. However, Hamilton has now revealed that he has continued to assist the Silver Arrows’ future challenger.

The British driver claimed that he was working with Mercedes as if nothing had changed for next season. Lewis Hamilton admitted that perhaps this was not what he should be doing considering he will move to the team’s arch-rivals next season. This could allow Ferrari to gain insights about the Silver Arrows’ 2025 car when Hamilton joins Maranello next season.

However, Lewis Hamilton claimed that he wanted the Brackley-based team to excel in F1 despite not racing for the team next season. The seven-time world champion has formed a strong bond with Mercedes as he has achieved historic success with the Silver Arrows in the past decade. As such, the 39-year-old is still part of meetings with the entire crew.

I want the team to excel and succeed regardless of whether I am here or not... We're still having our big meetings back at the factory. Lewis Hamilton stated

Lewis Hamilton ‘massively respectful’ to Mercedes’ future development

The seven-time world champion highlighted that he continued to enjoy his conversations with the team in his final season at Brackley. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton claimed that Mercedes has been great with him despite his decision to leave the team earlier this year.

Hamilton declared that he had massive respect for the team’s future efforts. As the Silver Arrows try to get back to winning ways in Formula 1. The 39-year-old claimed that he would even specify what issues need to be worked on for the 2025 car to ensure that the new car could overcome the struggles of the W15.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton still has love and admiration for the Silver Arrows. The seven-time world champion will be looking to end his decade-long journey on a high note with a potential victory this season. However, it remains to be seen if Hamilton could end his long win drought in the pinnacle of motorsport this season.
