Lewis Hamilton took the sporting world by storm with his decision to join Scuderia Ferrari in 2025. Critics and fans have shared their opinions over what could be the biggest driver move in F1 history. Now, Alpine’s Pierre Gasly has claimed that Hamilton and Ferrari have got the perfect opportunity to succeed.

The French driver was intrigued by Lewis Hamilton’s switch to the Scuderia. The 28-year-old highlighted that the sport’s most successful driver was leaving the team with which he accomplished the most dominant stint in F1 history. This further indicated the scale of this driver transfer.

I think it’s going to be interesting, obviously. The most successful driver of our sport leaving Mercedes, after a long and probably the most successful collaboration of our sport. Pierre Gasly told Sky Sports

Moreover, Gasly admitted that he was shocked by Hamilton’s decision to switch to Maranello. The French driver claimed that it was now or never for Lewis Hamilton. As the seven-time world champion was in the final phase of his F1 career.

It was a bit of a shocking move for everyone but I definitely wish him the best. It’s towards the end of his career, and it was probably now or never.

Pierre Gasly insisted that it was the right opportunity for Hamilton as well as the Scuderia. Ferrari managed to convince the seven-time world champion right when he was skeptical about Mercedes’ performance on the grid.

They both grabbed that opportunity so it’s gonna be interesting following that.

Can Lewis Hamilton succeed with Ferrari?

Lewis Hamilton is statistically the most successful F1 driver in history. However, the 39-year-old has failed to achieve similar results in the past two seasons as Mercedes fell behind Red Bull and Max Verstappen. The British driver might not have been convinced with the Silver Arrows development over the winter. As Hamilton decided to join Ferrari despite renewing his Mercedes contract just five months ago.

The seven-time world champion hopes to win an unprecedented eighth F1 world title with the Scuderia. Hamilton has put faith in Maranello’s plans for the coming years with a massive multi-year deal worth $430 billion.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari will remain one of the biggest talking points in the coming months. However, it will be interesting to see if the seven-time world champion can fulfill his ambitions when he leaves Mercedes to join Maranello in 2025.
