Roush Yates Engines announced on Monday that it would build engines for Penske Racing in 2013.
“Ford has been consistent in its belief that we will be stronger with one engine specification, rather than continuing with an independent approach,” Penske Racing President Tim Cindric said. “Roush Yates has a proven record, and we are looking forward to many successes together.”
Roush Yates currently builds engines for most Ford teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, including the top-tier teams of Roush Fenway Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports.
“It’s truly and honor to provide Penske Racing with Roush Yates Ford Engines,” Roush Yates Engines CEO Doug Yates said. “I have always admired Roger Penske as a team owner and a respected businessman in our sport and beyond. I am looking forward to many wins, championships and other successes in supporting the Penske organization.”
Penske Racing currently fields Dodges, but announced that it would be making the switch to Ford next season.
