Red Bull took a massive hit after Adrian Newey announced his 2025 exit. The effect of the aero-genius leaving will be shown by the regulation changes of the 2026 season. However, multiple people from the team including Christian Horner have downplayed the importance of the technical wizard. Amidst this, ex-F1 driver Daniil Kvyat claimed that Red Bull’s newfound success in the ground-effect era wasn’t ‘reduced’ to the 65-year-old.

Adrian Newey was believed to be highly influential in Red Bull’s success in the sport before his shock exit. However, Daniil Kvyat pointed out that there were multiple people for several different parts of the car. The Russian driver also recalled Newey’s work in the development of the chassis being aerodynamics primarily. Regardless, everyone had something to say about the car’s development. Hence, the situation for the Austrian team will be ‘interesting’ to see.

If you are well prepared with its structure, there are many optimal people for several different parts of the car. Adrian also had his job, there were aerodynamics, hydraulics, everything had something to say in the project, so it will be interesting to see. Daniil Kvyat said, as reported by GPblog.com.

Kvyat felt that ‘collapse’ was too strong of a word to describe Red Bull’s status after Newey’s exit. But, the situation will be a ‘change’ for the team, be it positive or negative. However, Kvyat accepted that the Briton’s name was a ‘great name but Red Bull’s success wasn’t reduced to one man in the team. Hence, the Austrian outfit’s situation in the 2026 season will be full of uncertainty.

I don't know if collapse is a strong word, but it is a change, positive or negative, we don't know. It's a great name, but team success is not reduced to one man. Daniil Kvyat noted.

Daniil Kvyat believes Red Bull has the ‘right people’ to ‘restructure’

Further, Kvyat recalled that even he felt that Newey’s departure was a big change and questioned if Red Bull could manage the loss. However, there are many talented engineers at Milton Keynes which will help them quickly restructure the team. Hence, the Austrian team will soon get over the loss of such an integral part of the design team.

First, I thought it was a big change, but that maybe we didn't know if Red Bull was ready for it. There are many talented engineers there. So, I'm sure Red Bull has the right people to later restructure. Daniil Kvyat mentioned.

Apart from this, Daniil Kvyat hoped that the Austrian team would organize quickly under Newey’s absence and return to success. The 30-year-old had previously highlighted his availability to join Red Bull amidst the ever-growing tensions. Hence, the former F1 driver might be eyeing an entry into the sport with his previous team once again. Regardless, the Russian driver concluded by praising Newey for being ‘very talented’.

Hopefully it will organize quickly. Adrian alone is very talented. Daniil Kvyat concluded.

Red Bull’s success in the ground-effect era with Newey’s help has been phenomenal. Hence, seeing the 65-year-old exit the team will be difficult. Regardless, the sport continues without many emotions as Red Bull will take a look over their team of engineers.
