A month after officially booking an official visit with West Virginia, defensive end recruit Jayden Loftin is sending a positive message to the WVU football staff.

Loftin has the Mountaineers as one of his top seven schools, revealing WVU along with the others in a graphic on X (Twitter) on Wednesday. Minnesota, North Carolina State, Penn State, Tennessee, Syracuse and Wisconsin make up the rest of Loftin’s list.

The versatile three-star recruit will be in Morgantown for an official visit at the end of May. The class of 2025 defensive end/outside linebacker publicized the dates for his trip last month. Most recently, Loftin spent time in Knoxville visiting Tennessee.

Loftin will spend time touring the facility and meeting the WVU staff from May 31 to June 2. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Loftin is a junior at Somerville High School in Somerville, N.J. He’s listed as simply an edge rusher by most national recruiting outlets.

Rivals ranks Loftin a three-star player and the No. 24 prospect in New Jersey. Besides West Virginia, Loftin has offers from schools like Boston College, Georgia Tech, Minnesota, Pitt, Syracuse and Tennessee. He’s also been in communication with Duke and Georgia among other major conference programs.

WVU extended Loftin an offer in October.
